A long weekend International Fetsival of bunkers: Bunker activations, hunting and shortwave listening.
Now in its second year, Bunkerfest is a WWBOTA-sponsored weekend of bunker activation and hunting backed by national societies.
WWBOTA issues awards for activators, hunters and SWLs. QSOs also count toward WWBOTA and national awards where applicable — log and claim through the WWBOTA Logger.
HF activators require a minimum of 25 QSOs to activate a bunker. Return visits within the 72 hours are permitted to reach the total.
VHF activators require a minimum of 10 QSOs, with the same return-visit allowance.
All simplex modes may be used — voice, CW, and data including FT modes. Repeaters, internet gateways and VOIP services (e.g. Peanut) are not permitted.
A station may only be worked once at each bunker; additional modes or bands don't score as an extra QSO. A hunter may only claim a bunker once, even if a different activator is worked there later.
One bunker per activation. Where an activation zone covers several bunkers (a "3-fer"), only one may be claimed per visit — the others may be activated separately, each requiring its own minimum QSO count. A bunker may be activated once on HF or once on VHF, not both.
Activators must leave a minimum 10-minute gap before switching bunkers, or QSOs risk rejection by the logging system.
If a bunker is incorrectly activated alongside another at the same time, only one may be claimed — the same applies to hunters working a station that did so.
